hūmNET offers a unique opportunity to foster a sense of connection with others around the world, even for just a few minutes, centered on shared hope, dreams, causes, or prayers. Unlike conventional social media, it is free of distractions such as likes, videos, or endless browsing.

You can utilize hūmNET for various purposes—including:

<li>Finding calm and focus</li>
<li>Engaging with what matters most</li>
<li>Connecting with loved ones</li>
<li>Supporting those in need</li>
<li>Practicing compassion</li>
<li>Praying or meditating</li>
<li>Facilitating recovery</li>
<li>Creating space for reflection</li>
<li>Grieving or memorializing</li>
<li>Participating in group cohesion</li>
<li>Inspiring and motivating others</li>
</ul>

hūmNET is distinguished by its simplicity and its attempt to bridge the growing disconnect felt in our hyper-connected world. While social media often fosters superficial interactions, hūmNET aims to create genuine moments of togetherness, real-time and globally synchronized, unified around a specific intent or thought.

The concept revolves around brief "events" known as humns. Users can initiate a humn for themselves or others, join an ongoing humn, or participate in one scheduled at a particular time or through an invitation.

What happens during a humn?
<ul>
<li>Participants focus on a central message displayed on their device screens simultaneously.</li>
<li>A gentle visual cue—a circling ball—is used to help maintain focus.</li>
<li>The number of current participants is visible to foster a sense of community.</li>
<li>An interactive live map of participants’ locations will be available soon.</li>
<li>A soothing vibration enhances the feeling of connection.</li>
<li>An adjustable humn tone can be muted or tailored to personal preference.</li>
<li>A chime signals the final five seconds before conclusion.</li>
<li>At the end of the session, users are directed to an after-humn screen offering additional options or information about next steps.</li>
<li>Participants may exit at any point by selecting the leave option.</li>
</ul>

Creating a humn:
<ul>
<li>Anyone can initiate a humn for any cause, event, or purpose.</li>
<li>Press the + button on the interface to set up a new session by providing:
<ul>
<li>TITLE: Be descriptive—use emojis and special characters as desired.</li>
<li>FOCUSED PHRASE: A short, impactful phrase with optional emoji for the center circle.</li>
<li>HUMN DESCRIPTION: Clarify the intention of the session, explaining why participants are gathered and what they’re invited to contemplate. Additional links or calls to action can be included here.</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Use the SAVE function if you wish to revisit draft details later.</li>
</ul>

SCHEDULING A Humn:
<ul>
<li>Select date, time, duration, and recurrence based on your needs—it's advisable to coordinate timing with participants beforehand.</li>
</ul>

Prior to a humn:
<ul>
<li>If it hasn’t started yet, you’ll see a waiting room presenting the day’s focus, participant count, and countdown timer.</li>
<li>You can save your intended participation by tapping the heart icon.</li>
<li>Indicate your intent to join by selecting the appropriate checkbox.</li>
<li>Add the session to your calendar to ensure participation.</li>
<li>Share details of the upcoming humn through social channels or directly with friends and family.</li></ul>

Post-humn:
<ul>
<li>A chime marks the conclusion of the session five seconds prior.</li>
<li>The after-humn screen offers further information about the session and suggestions for next steps or continued engagement.</li></ul>
